OSSC Coterie

Old Scotch Soccer Club (OSSC) is unlike many other sporting clubs, as it is a club for soccer players and supporters built on Scotch College values. It is also a community club, where its social interactions are as important as the on-field activities. Players and supporters choose OSSC for the enjoyment of participation and mateship. Since 1981 it is without question that the club has provided the place for all this to occur and has had a positive effect on many people’s lives.

OSSC has been very successful on the field and after 30 years in often second or third class facilities, the club moved into the new facilities at H A Smith Reserve, across Glenferrie Road from the school. Throughout its history, OSSC has been completely self-sufficient via the payment of membership fees from players, some social members and social events, and from the assistance of a few generous sponsors.

Over the years the economic landscape has changed, and during 2017 OSSC took the important step of forming a coterie group to allow an opportunity for sponsors to enjoy soccer at a good standard and mix socially (including an annual dinner) and professionally with members of OSSC.

We would very much to like to hear from members of the Old Scotch family who would like to help us by providing some level of sponsorship or a donation. We want people on board who can see the considerable benefits of continuing to see a sporting club like OSSC available for young and sometimes even older players (yes, there is a veteran’s team).
