Sunday 30th March 2008, Toorak Bowls Club
As promised, It was a fun Sunday afternoon in the sun, and all 35 attendees were in fine spirits as the curtain came down on the busy pre-season schedule (for all but Thirds) and rose again ahead of the Round 1 fixtures.
the Open Day is all about getting to know your fellow clubmen and their partners, family and friends. It is at these events that you find out most about the players you share the pill with.
For the record Allan and Dawsy won the bowls comp, beating one-armed Bondy and Chris Harley in the final. Great effort to all finalists.
Roo, Doidgy and Greavesy won the door prizes and we're ecstatic that these prizes went to those who help out most around the club. I would like to confirm the draw wasn't rigged and that every ticket drawn DID NOT have their names upon it - did they Crooky?!
Thanks all to those who came along and contributed to the club cause. A special thanks to those who brought family, partners and friends with them. It is these people who keep our club growing and contribute financially to the club's long term survival.
