ROYALS ON THE END OF IT AGAIN BUT IMPROVEMENT COMING

The Royals were looking forward to their first proper home clash this weekend for a few reasons; we finally had a goalkeeper and a new Brazilian import. Our opposition looked more like The Mighty Ducks with an assumed average age of 12. However shortly before kick off we received the devastating news that the most colourful boots in the Victorian Football Federation were not going to make an appearance today.

Within the first ten minutes we had conceded a penalty, one of our players was found guilty of using his immense body to push over an opposition player; the player in this case was the dominating and masculine figure of Bruce Reid, who much like his namesake weighs 35kgs on a bad day. Another soft decision meant a free kick out of the box which they headed for a 2-0 lead, before a goal mouth scramble gave them a 3-0 lead. Shortly before half time however Bob Gilles unleashed a shot from outside of the box, their skilled goalkeeper being tested for the first time, simply let the ball go through him, which lead many to question if he was actually a ghost. The half time was score 3-1 and Terry asked us to show a bit more cu…mongrel, Jonesy clearly inspired by this, played with a bit more cu….mongrel to pick himself up a yellow. The opposition captain hit a free kick that went in the top corner, they scored another late goal and we were losing 5-1 and losing our shape a bit.

The score stayed at 5-1, the same result as last week, things are improving though and it's only a matter of time till those scores start getting reversed.
