OH SO CLOSE, BUT OUR HIGHEST FINISH EVER!... After last year's Provisional Cup success and our first year in Provisional League 1, we almost pulled off what many believe would have been a shock promotion into the State Leagues. While this year may be remembered for being the one that almost was, it was the clubs highest placed finish in our highest division ever.
Rob Forsyth took over as coach following the departure of Dave Efron and led a spirited start to the season sitting atop of the table after the first 6 games. A round 7 loss to eventual champions Moreland City sparked a run of ordinary results which produced only 1 win in 5 games. A storming recovery and being undefeated in the last 9 games left us 2 points off promotion and a season that promised so much and ultimately left Old Scotch dissapointed. Our Reserves were outstanding all year and almost pulled off a championship of their own. Second place with only 3 losses all year was a testament to the strength and depth at the club.
All sights looking towards next year now as promotion beckons for the Red, Gold and Blue
